Mussels in White Wine
Mussels in a white wine sauce is definitely my absolute favorite way to cook and eat mussels. It’s so easy and tastes oh so delicious. Here’s the recipe I used to cooked these mussels and it only took about 15 mins including prep time.
Ingredients:
2 cups white wine
4 large shallots, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
2 pounds mussels
1/4 cup chopped parsley
6 tablespoons butter
Directions:
- Rinse and scrub mussels under cold running water. Make sure to get rid of all the beard (strings) from them.
- In a large stockpot on medium heat, melt butter and simmer shallots until cooked (about 2-3 mins).
- Turn heat to high, add wine, garlic, and salt.
- Add the mussels and cook for about 5 minutes or until mussels are open. I would put a lid over the pot.
- Stir in the parsley and extra butter if desired. (Yes, on the extra butter :P) Remove from heat. Serve immediately.
