    Warehouse 72

Warehouse 72 opened up late 2019, so right before the pandemic. From then, they’ve been struggling to keep business afloat. They’re a branch off of the famous Spaghetti Warehouse but only carry a few of the recipes. They’re located in the Marq-E center right behind the Dave & Busters. Chef came out and talked to me and explained that the design of the restaurant resembles a rebirth of their previous concept. Walking in you see the globes with the lights & bronze clouds on the side giving it an angelic touch. Throughout the restaurant, there’s light that represents the starry night. There’s these trees in front of the open kitchen…

    Cheesy baked lobster

This quarantine 2020 has got me cooking up all sorts of stuff! Not that I wasn’t cooking before but now I can actually spend 3 hours cooking a dinner. It all started out because Lafitte Seafood in Houston was having a $10 lobster sale. Each lobsters were about 1.1 lb! The deal was too great to pass up so we got 10 lobsters and made different things with them. The night before we picked up the lobsters, I remember thinking to myself… “How are we going to work with live lobsters?” Sure, I’ve cooked crawfish before but live lobsters? Never. I was a little scared because I didn’t really want…

    Mussels in White Wine

Mussels in a white wine sauce is definitely my absolute favorite way to cook and eat mussels. It’s so easy and tastes oh so delicious. Here’s the recipe I used to cooked these mussels and it only took about 15 mins including prep time. Ingredients: 2 cups white wine 4 large shallots, finely chopped 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 teaspoon salt 2 pounds mussels 1/4 cup chopped parsley 6 tablespoons butter Directions: Rinse and scrub mussels under cold running water. Make sure to get rid of all the beard (strings) from them. In a large stockpot on medium heat, melt butter and simmer shallots until cooked (about 2-3 mins).…

Bun Rieu just like your mama’s

Omg. Seriously when I posted the videos of me making bun rieu on instagram, I did not think so many people would care. But I got sooooo many responses from it, and so many people asking me for the recipe! And in case you don’t know what bun rieu is, it’s a Vietnamese noodle soup dish. The dish usually contains noodles, crab and shrimp meatballs, tomatoes and fried tofu topped with lots of veggies. This was my first time ever cooking bun rieu and it literally took me about 4 hours to cook this dish but it turned out soooo good! Here’s how I made it. (Some of the measuring…

How the Keto diet worked for me… until it didn’t

The Keto diet is a low to no carb diet while intaking high fat and an adequate amount of proteins. I know, how do you lose weight by eating fat?! Let me tell you, this was one of my favorite diet. I could eat all the bacon I wanted, all the cheese I wanted, but I couldn’t eat bread or rice. That was kind of ok because I just made tons of keto bread (Oopsie bread) and made lots of cauliflower as replacements for rice and pizzas. I’ll post some  of my favorite recipes below. So basically, this diet works because after a certain amount of time without carbohydrates, our body…

My top 4 favorite sushi restaurants in Houston

I used to hate sushi. I didn’t like the smell of seaweed and the thought of eating raw fish was gross. Whenever I would go to a sushi restaurant I would order a rice dish. Yes. I was that person. Finally one day, I was forced to try it. I guess I was curious and was trying to not be so resistant to my (at the time) new boyfriend. I hesitantly placed a piece of fish in my mouth and to my surprise, it wasn’t that bad. However, the thought of eating raw fish was still lingering on my mind. As months went on and I kept trying it, the…
